Carter, who has been a part-owner of The Nest since , and previously worked with the former owner at the Government Rd. It's difficult—like everybody, we got through COVID, we got through all that stuff, but it was a lot, and we're going to look for other opportunities. For Carter, she said she was looking at other opportunities outside of running a restaurant, while Johnstone has taken on ownership of the Fanny Bay Inn on Vancouver Island. Carter said that it was a big decision to step away from a business that was a part of the community.
