It was 10 years ago that Adam Foote, at the time a star defenceman with the Colorado Avalanche, brought Fitzgerald aboard at his Train Like A Pro facility in Whitby, the hometown of both. Although he came in with more of a football background, Fitzgerald soon discovered the great opportunities for growth in hockey as an expert in strength, conditioning and nutrition. Fitzgerald and his family will spend the next couple of weeks preparing for the move, which will see him leave Whitby for sunny California on Sept. He says his first order of business with the Ducks will be to implement a tracking system for each player in the organization.
