A delicious and my favorite everyday meat and lentil curry recipe. I love making it and my family like the taste of this curry, urad gosht. I find it really easy to make that is why it is in urad gosht everyday recipes.

Urad gosht is a popular dish of district Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, my home town. You can safely call it our national dish if we could name a national dish of Bijnor. It is so popular that if you ask anyone from my hometown- chances are they will all say there is no food like Urad Gosht. I am aware that lot of my city friends and lot of you would not know about it but I have to document the recipe as this dish defines who I am and where I come from. It is a simple dish- meat cooked with black Urad!

Maash ki daal or white urad dal has a slightly thick texture unlike other lentils. It has a nutty, warm and savory taste that goes very well with Indian breads like naan or tandoori roti. A tempering of ginger, red or green chillies, and mint adds a kick to daal maash like nothing else! This is a vegan recipe and both instant pot and stovetop versions are included. Method: Boil and chop tomatoes , now heat oil in a pan add boil chopped tomatoes with vinegar , onion, sugar, salt pepper and turmeric , and cook , now blend this in blender , to temper in a pan fry curry leave s, add tomatoes mixture , tamarind pulp , onion seeds, cumin, salt, now add dissolved gram flour and cook, lastly add eggs and coriander and serve.
