The Witness focuses on 2D puzzle panels throughout a world for you to explore. While there are well over puzzles to solve, this walkthrough will focus mainly on the ones required for you to advance through the 11 lasers and the endgame. As a result, there may be many sections not covered as well as countless puzzles and secrets that we miss. Even still, please consider going through them and really looking for it all. There is a lot to enjoy in this game outside of the "achievement areas. The final achievement relies on you understanding the game mechanics, as the puzzles are completely randomized. We have both heard stories of people using guides to get through all the other achievements and hit a wall at the end when they realized they hadn't been building the skills to complete the final test. At this point, many players have quit with just the last achievement to go. Additionally, there are plenty of players who did not use guides through large portions of the game and still struggled with the challenge yes, it really is going to be difficult. Some color and hearing based puzzles during the game may be unable to be completed by players. We are including the solutions to the puzzles required for achievements so you could use these in the worst case scenarios. The Challenge has some color based puzzles no sound based ones , but as an individual without color blindness issues, I can't say how perceivable the differences are or are not for different types of color blindness.

The controls for the Witness are very basic. Therefore, the main focus of this page will be the rules you will encounter throughout the game.
