With the bright lights of Blackpool beckoning, a nervy night in the ballroom saw the closest dance-off of the series so far. Thanks for watching along with me, everyone. Maxi-fun, megalolz and most entertaining as always.
Our 15 plucky celebrities met their pro partners, while the judges hit the dancefloor, reigning champion Hamza Yassin returned and emotional tribute was paid to the late Len Goodman. In the meantime, thanks for your wit, wisdom and for being so welcoming. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Guardian glitterati. And, it almost goes without saying, keeeeeep dancing! As does Layton.

The first live show of the series saw Nigel Harman on top with his show-closing, Nirvana-soundtracked paso doble. But who will go home first? But on a night of Cher cameos and Eurovision news, who would lift the glitterball trophy? Phew, what a final. High-standard hoofing. Gripping and tense but the right outcome, I think.
