As someone who constantly reads and analyzes My Hero Academia, I am more than capable of recognizing any flaws it may have. I am fully aware the story is not perfect, but I am more than willing to continue reading it. That being said, there was one part of the series I abhorred. This is something that almost made me drop the series out of frustration and never pick it up again, even after following it for all these years. It was Chapters to aka the Stars and Stripes Arc.

Cathleen Bate was a tall woman with a well-muscled build. She had elegant facial features, narrow eyes, and long flowing blonde hair with eight distinct tufts swept backward and fashioned in a similar manner to the ones All Might possessed in his empowered form. Her hero costume was a high-collared skin-tight bodysuit with shoulder pads, boots and gauntlets. Fitting to her home country and hero name, the upper torso was decorated in stripes, and her gauntlets and collar are studded with metal stars. Completing the outfit was a long, striped cape that resembles of the U. As a young girl, Cathleen had long brown hair, which was dyed blonde later on. She also wore glasses. Cathleen was very brash, choosing to immediately head out to Japan to aid the fight against All For One despite the United Nations not finalizing a decision on international hero aid. She had a profound admiration for All Might, due to him saving her and her family years ago when he was studying abroad. She considered his two hair tufts to be a symbol of heroism and had her own hair styled in a similar manner with eight tufts, to symbolize her dedication of being a hero. Cathleen also admired his incredible strength, to the point where she always applied super strength to herself using her Quirk. Cathleen was also shown to have an intense desire to protect others and seek justice, to the point where she was willing to ruin her own reputation and career for the sake of others. This was best seen when she all but demands the use of the Tiamat missiles to destroy Tomura Shigaraki despite the potential international fall out it could cause. Even when told she would lose her hero license, she didn't care as she could see how much of a threat Tomura was and that it was worth the risk.

Villainous Breakdown : The All For One in Shigaraki displays a rare case of rage stars and stripes mha being denied an opportunity to use New Order, losing some of his quirks and, to top it off, seeing a "spectre of All Might". Do not ask me to make Quirks.

Most of the quirks in the series have some biological explanation or basis that makes them somewhat grounded. The rules can be almost anything, as long as she knows and says the name of what she's touching. For example, when a laser beam is fired at her, she touches it with her hands, and applies a rule to it that makes it holdable, thus allowing her to catch it. Besides the requirement of her touching and saying the name of an object, Star is also limited on how many rules she can apply at once. The rule would only be able to affect the air itself.

Star and Stripe Arc's name is Conjectural. No official name has been given, and it is subject to change at any time. With Tomura Shigaraki 's body nearly complete, All Might requests immediate aid from the foreign Heroes. Enter America's No. In a secret cave hideout, All For One states to Spinner that, thanks to the escaped convicts, Pro Heroes and the Police Force have been too busy to turn their full attention to them and proclaims victory on their game of hide-and-seek.

However, while heroes of the past have often focused on relatively uncontroversial targets, Star and Stripe's quirk gets into much darker territory. After receiving a plea for help from her "spiritual master" All Might, Star and Stripe quickly flies into Japanese airspace to face the villain All For One, and she finds him - in Tomura Shigaraki's body. A battle immediately ensues in chapter , where her terrifying and satirical quirk is revealed. Called "New Order," Star and Stripe can impose new rules on reality, so long as she's touching the subject of her decree. She first imposes a new rule for the air directly around " Shigaraki " by making it not exist so he can't breathe. But since she can't set the rules of a second thing other than herself at the same time, a laser that "Shigaraki" fires in her direction forces Star and Stripe to drop her last order to make the laser safe to grab. The final rule she imposes is especially unsettling: " If Tomura Shigaraki moves at all, his heart will stop.

It ends up feeling more comical then anything, seeing Tomura constantly flung around like a ragdoll, but does have its own issues for the story.
