Daedric Artifacts are special, powerful items created by the Daedric Princes and given to mortals in exchange for their services or for completing favors. Each artifact is attributed to a specific Prince and is imbued with their power, providing unique combat and magical benefits to their users. In order to obtain these artifacts, the Dragonborn must undertake special Daedric Quests and gain the favor of the associated Daedric Prince. It is a piece of Heavy Armor worn on the torso as a Cuirass. Visually, the Ebony Mail is similar to Ebony Armor with some key differences such as the chainmail that lines the inner portion of the plates and makes up the entirety of the sleeves, as well as the absence of pauldrons. The shadowy effect it gives off while the enchantment is active shrouds the wearer completely in a black, smoky silhouette. This visual effect is also seen on enemies afflicted with the poison effect.
