My books are not about sex but about self-liberation If it was not good, it was true; if it was not artistic, it was sincere; if it was in bad taste, it was on the side of life. Obviously there is a strong emphasis on the book's sexual proclivities as it was a pivotal moment in the deconstruction of our country's censorship laws, but Miller I believe is not trying to be overtly graphic in his sex writing merely to shock people so he can sell more books.
