Due to a miscommunication with the guys who fitted my heating system, I've got the washing machine outlets where I want to fit a sink, and vice versa. New washing machines only come with a cold feed now says as they heat up their own water. A check valve basically stops the water going back down the pipe so once it has gone through the valve it can't go back. Ha Ha Ha now he's got a second opinion for free.
