This is the perfect way to spend a holiday with kids. This time for a two-week cruise around the Mediterranean.
Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Azura. The food was great, with lots of variety, the entertainment was varied and to a good standard and the crew were awesome, in Read More. The value of the cruise was good but once onboard the experience is not great. The ship is tired and old , really needs a modern update. MY cabin was in need of updating and cabin staff just seem stressed and miserable. We were allocated a great table at The Oriental but no Sommelier so the poor waiting staff are stressed out trying to get the hot food and cope with taking drinks orders which is

Hit five stars for activities and excursions but didn't use them. Excellent value for money cruise. Staff onboard were very good. Cabins kept clean by friendly staff. Food onboard was consistently good and well cooked. This ship caters for the British market and this is reflected in the menus on offer. Kettle in cabin always a plus as not usually available on American ships. Breakfast Room Service free of charge was a plus. Ship is traditional and is coming up for a refit next year. An enjoyable week. A lovely itinerary and good to get some winter sunshine. Very well organised from the charter flight, transfers and cruise itself.
Dining 4. Very enjoyable.
Well done. Enjoyable week cruising around the Canary Islands. Ship is a bit tired but has all the facilities you need. Crew are friendly and attentive. Excursion to Mt Tiede was excellent. Everything ran smoothly. Although the ship was a little older, it was nice to go on something smaller.
It starts with a tour of our Inside cabin followed by a full tour of the ship. We parked our car with CPS and then made our way in to Mayflower terminal. It was really busy, mostly standing room only but within 15 minutes we were on our way to check-in, security was straightforward and I would say we were on the ship within 30 minutes of arriving which is better than we had expected being so early. We had booked the lowest grade inside as a guarantee and ended up getting upgraded to B which was great! When I say upgraded I mean within the same grade, so it was a better inside as it was more mid ship and lower. The cabin itself felt more specious than expected, came with the usual free bottles of water and tea and coffee making facilities.

Azura is a ship that has been tailor-made for the British market. From the entertainment roster of former TV stars to the excellent range of ales and gins served in the ship's numerous bars. The prices on board are in pounds sterling, too.
There was a provisions shop with sweet treats, toys and games. And you could take excursions to visit to the Medieval town of Obidos or the popular resort of Cascais as well of lots of opportunities to explore Lisbon itself. Search Deals. We really did have a great time with no problems; total satisfaction and will definitely do another cruise and purchase through Iglu Cruises. Ship is good, staff excellent and friendly. Food portions a bit on the small side in the main dining room but plenty of options available. Kettle in cabin always a plus as not usually available on American ships.
