Placer County officials unveiled a new Health and Human Services Center on Wednesday that promises to be a "one-stop" spot for several different services. The new facility in North Auburn will offer residents social services such as mental health support, substance use treatment, and access to food and housing resources — all in one place. The county hopes this consolidation will increase accessibility and visibility for community members to the services available to them. The more than ,square-foot center replaces multiple World War II-era facilities that previously housed the department's programs. It's also the county's first zero-net-energy facility and has a conference center that members of the public can reserve for use.
