The existing setup is a standard door bell that has a cable that runs from the outside door bell into a Friedland type 6 chime and then a cable from that to the low voltage transformer next to the main fuse box. The transformer then goes into the main fuse box. The chime has 4 terminals labelled 0, T3, 1R and F2. I have traced the wires and the ones coming direct from the transformer are going to 0 and T3. If I just forget the bypass cable that came with the ring bell and get some choc blocks and treat it as if the wires had been cut and reuse them in 2 choc blocks to rejoin them then have no wires still attached to the chime at all is that ok? Yep - the aim is to completely bypass the chime and just connect the wires straight through to the doorbell. Hi, would it be possible to have a photo of this following the fitting of the jump connector? Many thanks.
