Moffat Independent Hostel is a friendly, family run hostel that has been set up with the outdoors enthusiast in mind. For those wishing to stick around a little longer, we provide an excellent base for exploring everything that southern Scotland has to offer. Tom and Sindy have spent the last 3 years living in Dumfries and Galloway after spending the previous 10 years living and working in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Southern Africa. We have tried to create a hostel that reflects some of our international experiences, whist providing a friendly Scottish welcome! Railway Station - Our nearest railway station is the mainline station at Lockerbie which is 15 miles south of Moffat. From Lockerbie the regular minibus travels directly to Moffat, and passes right by the hostel front door! The X74 bus connects Glasgow and Moffat and takes approximately 90 minutes. I'm a Hostel. We have recently re-opened our games room which now has rather smart seven-foot pool table. Shoot a few frames, play cards, chess, or one of our selection of board games in this grand old Victorian front room with its large original fireplace and huge bay windows! A huge welcome to Moffat Independent Hostel. Opened just last month March there will be lots of availablity and lots brand new facilities at this 5 star Scottish hostel. The whole place has been designed with the outdoor enthusiast in mind. Moffat is a charming village located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It is a hidden gem that offers a wide range of activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy. If you have not yet visited Moffat, you are missing out on a truly unique experience.
