About 5 days ago I was driving about 45mph and was in 5th gear and out of no where it downshifted into 3rd very hard causing my whole car to jerk and almost stop in the middle of the road. The next day I was on the highway going 70 and the same thing happened, was in 5th, went to 3rd and jerked my whole car again even worse.

Its a mid-toned gear whine that is more apparent on acceleration, but is very apparent on deceleration as well.
