Since arriving at French court , she married Lord Julien , left him due to him deceiving her, and had a son with King Francis out of wedlock. When Francis publicly claimed their child, Lola was presumed the King's mistress, which made every man afraid of her. Except for the man even the King was afraid of: Lord Narcisse. The pair got close and married shortly after, defeating all odds. However, her husband's power-grabbing nature soon resurfaced and drove Lola away from him, all the way to English court.

She was born in , the year her father was taken prisoner by the English at the Battle of Solway Moss. Her mother was an illegitimate daughter of James IV of Scotland. Lady Fleming became a governess to the infant queen, also born in , and the dowager queen, Mary of Guise , chose Lady Fleming's daughter Mary to be one of four companions to the young queen. Mary Fleming and Mary, Queen of Scots, were first cousins. Lady Lola Flemming Narcisse was a main character of Reign. When first arriving at the French Court, she was excited to be reunited with Mary. Soon her boyfriend, Colin, arrived to surprise her. Thinking that everything was going perfect, Colin was soon executed for trying to rape Mary, on orders from Queen Catherine and Lola blamed Mary for it. Later on, Lola betrayed Mary when she slept with Francis. Lola feeling ashamed soon learned that she was pregnant with Francis' child.
When Lola and Francis encountered one another in Paris, sparks were flying. However, that was only temporary, as Francis' heart lay with Mary and Lola's was soon captured by someone else. But it did result in a child whom the pair cared for while maintaining a platonic relationship. There, Mary's Ladies-in-Waiting were to account for her and tend to her every need. It was established that Mary was their sole common ground, and they only saw each other when Mary interacted with Francis in front of her ladies.
