They travelled to Africa and without air conditioning on their modified truck, they filled it with supplies, some beer, a bunch of aviator sunglasses, intrepid turkey highlights, and some friends. Catch the overnight train to Central Anatolia and the fairytale landscape of Cappadocia, where hot air balloons dot the skyline and dwellings are cut into the cliffs, then finish back in Istanbul, the long-lived metropolis where East meets West. This authentic Greek Ottoman village seems to have been overlooked by modern development and the unique local architecture nestled in the hills make for a photographer's dream. On the other hand, early in the season April many businesses may still be closed and the weather is unpredictable, however you may have some of the major sights almost to yourself. Coverage may not be available in more remote areas. In times of peace, the people in this region lived on the land, but in times of war or persecution they took to living underground. You'll have plenty of time to explore tomorrow, so perhaps kick up your feet at a waterfront cafe and watch the setting sun turn the houses pink.
