Garazeb orrelios
Meet the muscle of the Ghost team.
Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios codename Spectre 4 was a male Lasat. He served as a rebel alongside the crew of the Ghost after his race was almost entirely wiped out by the Empire. Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios was born and raised on the planet Lasan and served as Captain of the Lasan High Honor Guard , where it was his duty to protect the royal family and assist his people into rising up against the Galactic Empire in its early days as the first species ever to have done so. When the Empire responded to this rebellion by sacking and massacring the Lasats themselves, Zeb, along with the rest of the Honor Guard, helped protect their people. Unfortunately, they were no match for the Empire's assault on the Royal Palace of Lasat, and were finished when a bomb was set off, destroying most of the castle.

The Mandalorian has always done a good job of incorporating characters that fans already know. That continued in "The Pirate," albeit in a rather unexpected place. That message went to Carson Teva, who's helped him out of a jam in the past. But Teva was hanging out at a bar, having a drink with someone that Star Wars animation fans may have been surprised to see in a new form: Zeb Orrelios. Star Wars fans who haven't dabbled with the animated series may have just thought Captain Teva was having a drink with a funny looking purple alien guy, but they don't realize that Zeb is actually one of the most important characters in Star Wars: Rebels, and that his presence in "The Pirate" could be setting up even more exciting crossover in the future. Given his outfit, he appears to be an X-Wing pilot for a Blue Squadron. Teva and Zeb have a conversation about the trouble Teva's just learned about on Nevarro; Zeb doesn't seem hopeful, and Teva says he's got to bring this news to the powers that be on Coruscant.

This article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian season 3, episode 5. Lucasfilm's animated Star Wars Rebels TV show introduced viewers to a rebel cell based on the planet Lothal, who gradually became absorbed into the wider Rebel Alliance. Things were never going to end well for the group, given they were operating before the first Death Star - before the first rebel victory. Other members of the rebel cell continued working in the Rebel Alliance, with their leader Hera Syndulla even taking part in the battle of Endor. One character has been largely a mystery, however; Garazeb "Zeb" Orrelios, a Lasat rebel who played a key role in opposing the Empire on Lothal. He was a highly trained combatant, and he had cultivated a fierce hatred of the Empire given their attempted genocide of his people.

However, the rebels were able to land in one of the carrier's hangar bays with the help of Ketsu, who used her Shadow Caster to protect the Ghost from enemy fire. However, the rebels were then trapped between the Inquisitor and several Stormtroopers and TIE fighter pilots who were waiting on the other side. Following the successful relief of Ibaar, the Twi'lek was promoted as the new Phoenix leader at Kanan's recommendation. After Ezra returned to the Ghost with a kyber crystal after his trials at the Lothal Jedi Temple , Zeb and the other crew were present when the young Jedi apprentice presented his new lightsaber. Hera sent Zeb along with Sabine, Chopper, and Ezra on a mission to salvage some medical supplies from an Old Republic medical space station. Zeb and Sabine were soon dispatched to investigate an energy source Gerrera's forces had detected on the planet, and discovered it to be a Shield generator , which they promptly removed the Deflector Core from in hopes of employing it on Atollon. After reuniting with Kanan, the rebels played cat and mouse with Thrawn's death troopers in the tunnels under the Atollon Coral Mesa. Garazeb Orrelios was born on the planet Lasan. While Hera waited aboard the Ghost , Zeb and the other rebels climbed under a bridge to avoid Imperial sentries. Since the transponder's signal was unable to leave the cavern, Zeb made two attempts to climb out of the cavern but failed, prompting Kallus to snigger at him. After Ezra recounted his vision of seeing Maul to the other Spectres, Zeb reported that he saw nothing beside him and thought that Ezra was working himself too hard. When the other Troopers on-board started to regain conciousness, their chances of getting back to the freighter seemed unlikely.

They devised a plan, which involved a deep cover, even using the ship, the Broken Horn , for transport rather than the Ghost. Following the events on Lothal, the rebels reached a consensus that they could not return to the planet in order to avoid endangering its inhabitants. At one point during the resulting engagement, Zeb-seeing his comrade's success up to that point-suggested that Kalani surrender, which the droid interpreted as Zeb's attempt at a joke. Kanan eliminated the other two troopers by using the Force to hurtle them into the door. Following the incident on Mustafar, Zeb and his fellow Rebels became part of a larger Rebellion with Ahsoka's rebel cell, Phoenix Squadron , but Lothal was now under siege. After a brief misunderstanding due to Kanan's distrust of clones because of their role in Order 66 , which Rex and his brothers resisted in executing, the rebels managed to convince the clones that they were friends sent by Ahsoka. While inspecting the munitions depot, the rebels found that it was fully loaded with proton bombs. While fleeing, the two rebels were separated and Zeb found himself cornered by two more Stormtroopers and a TIE Fighter piloted by Rudor, whom was surprised to see the Lasat again after a couple of months.
