Post a Comment. Thursday 30 July Excellent Miniatures - 10mm elf scale comparison. I recently received a package of sample 10mm miniatures from a German company, Excellent Miniatures. For full disclosure, I paid for most of the postage, but I did not pay for the miniatures. The package contained an assortment of figures from different ranges that they currently sell. In this post, I am going to concentrate on the two ranges of elves that were in the sample - Elven Nobles and Elves of the Wood. I believe both ranges have been produced by Forest Dragon on patreon and Excellent Miniatures have a license to 3D print and sell them commercially.

Subject: Adventures in the 10mm scale. This will mean, if I rank spearmen bases behind each other, I'll have roughly the same distance between every rank. No comments:. Regular Army-painter woodland tufts that I cut apart to make smaller tufts: The Finished product! Will snap a better one once he's gotten further along. Automatically Appended Next Post: So, the bases. Finally, I wanted to see an example of how they take paint, so I painted up one of the Noble Elf command figures as a Night Elf Captain. I realize I've expanded the archers into a regiment, but never posted a picture. I was away travelling for a while and forgot to check the log Dysartes wrote: Nice work on the Spearmen, even if they are Elves - and good thinking on the basing, so your units can be used in multiple configurations. She is obviously smaller but so much more detailed than her peers. For a 20mm base, this means I want the gap between the two ranks to be double the gap between a strip and the edge of the base. Within the spoiler a short breakdown of how we intend to convert KoW into 10mm Spoiler : A regular troop stand representing 2x5 20mm based models is converted to a regular Warmaster-base of 20x40mm Cavalry and heavy infantry gets a bit more space with 20x50mm Large inf, large cav, war machines etc goes on 20x20mm per model, so 20x60 for a regiment and 40x60 for a horde. You've done an awesome job so far, and I love the turquoise! The Noble Elves on foot are slightly smaller than all the others, but the comparison is a little unfair as these examples are not on the strip base that they would ordinarily be printed on. HOWEVER, as the eagle eyed among you might have noted, there's something going on with one of the troops in the back rank.

It still holds up, although I did find the unit sizes somewhat odd. It shouldn't be a problem to use the same bases for both systems. Even more spearmen done! Top Rated Topics. This will ensure war machines cannot be put too far back compared to how the game is balancetested, and while it should make cavalry and especially light, fast cavalry a bit better then intended, I don't think these kind of units are in any way overpowered in the current KoW 3rd ed meta, so it might actually produce better balance compared to large cav and inf, especially flying ones. Yeah, they really do put the mini- into minature gaming, don't they I find it's a really nice scale as, unlike for example 6mm, it's not so small that apart from weapons the models need to have much more exaggerated features than in 28mm. Forum Tools Forum Tools Search. Its these guys: I 'd say they're more like silver helms but a bit more fancy, so somewhat towards Dragon princes. But as long as We use cavalry units composed of an even number of bases, it'll come out to basically the same footprint. This in order to keep the game somewhat in the confines it's balanced around and not overpower long range artillery and such. It's a lot easier to do this now, before gluing the strips to the base. The first thing to note is that the quality of the sculpting is quite remarkable and the printing leaves them clean and crisp. Me and a buddy has drawn up a p army each for KoW that we're working towards. Hmm, I'd say they're somewhat inbetween. With two fully painted p armies each, we were ready for the full visual spectacle of battle.
