Everything spotlessly clean, a spacious room with a welcome hot bath and a large and very comfy bed. Never did. The range did not have ensuite bathrooms, which is a fairly basic requirement when travelling with your family instead several rooms shared a toilet and shower. Perhaps the most surprising thing is that it was very peaceful - no traffic noise or any other disturbance through the night. Hotel is very conveniently located for city centre, right next to Lace Market tram stop. On first glance, our room was fine. The surface had peeled away and whilst it was ok for the shower, you wouldn't want to soak in it. A very interesting place to stay if visiting Nottingham and not too far to drive in to the town.
