They purchased the property in , at the time it was abandoned for many years and in a state of disrepair. It took four years to complete the first renovation and second renovation was completed in Together they owned and operated an art gallery in Atlanta, where we featured their art and other artist's work. They decided to move to St. Maarten after Their vision was to integrate their passion for art with their love of the beach to create a unique boutique hotel with the charm of an artist's studio. Access to our room was tricky as you had to walk with your luggage onto the sandy beach to the room. There are some dogs in the neighborhood and on the beach but don't bother anyone. Mike and Fawnette, the owners live at the property that to my understanding was built a long time ago. Our rental car did not have a backup camera but we got used to it after a few close calls.
