Zane is a main character in the Aphmau SMP. Zane is the brainiac, man of science, and know-it-all of the server and loves making redstone machines, using mods, and experimenting on mobs and players. He likes outsmarting people, but he doesn't like being outsmarted himself. He also likes horses and will sometimes have them as pets. He is also Aphmau 's self-proclaimed best friend, but he tends to be overly protective of her to the point where he'll end up doing more harm to her than good, all while claiming it to be for her own good. A common example is him putting her in either a cage or a cell. He will also sometimes put other priorities ahead of her and even betray their friendship for the sake of either pranking her, taking her stuff, enforcing the "boys only" rule, being the best player on the server, or having control over it, all while expecting her to walk it off, and he will retaliate against any revenge. He'll also see any denial of his services, such as knighthood, as a declaration of war. Ironically, while he'll believe Aphmau whenever she fakes an injury and scold anyone who "hurt" her, he won't believe a word she says if either he blames her for something or someone else frames her. Due to his friendship with Aphmau and wanting to be the best player on the server, he has a rivalry against Aaron over who's the better friend and player. In fact, in some cases, he will pretend to be Aaron for the sake of being the best in Aphmau's eyes. He also has a crush on KC and will break into tears upon being rejected by her.
