Frustrated by his usual inability to possess Itadori's body , Sukuna takes full advantage of his surprising freedom by challenging Megumi Fushiguro to a fight in Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 5. However, to prevent Itadori from suddenly taking back control, Sukuna pulls at literal heartstrings by gruesomely ripping Itadori's heart out of his chest. Fushiguro correctly predicts that Sukuna's preventative measure won't stop Itadori from returning, who ultimately decides to seal his fate. Fushiguro impresses an unfazed Sukuna during their clash with his Ten Shadows Technique, and while it appeared as though Fushiguro had one final ace up his sleeve, Itadori returns instead. Glimpses of Fushiguro's past reveals his strained relationship with an absentee father and also a woman named Tsumiki who, at some point, was cursed. Fushiguro regarded Tsumiki as a good person deserving of happiness, so her unfair circumstance is a powerful motivator for him to help others.

When Choso enters the bathroom, Yuji attacks from behind and manages to send Choso into the water. Higuruma continues staring up at the ceiling as Yuji asks why he dispelled his cursed technique who tells Yuji he remembered why he got into law in the first place. However, discovering his unexpected connection with Yuji changes everything.
Death has always loomed over Yuji Itadori even before he joined Jujutsu High, and - though he is the main character of the story - killing him could create the perfect ending for Jujutsu Kaisen. The possibility of Yuji's demise has been a point of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime ever since its beginning, but after overcoming so many defeats and serious threats, it could seem unlikely that the show would end with Itadori finally dying for good. However, the creator Gege Akumtami has never shied away from taking risks and subverting expectations so killing the main character is never out of the question.

Yuki asks Tengen why all of this is happening now, and Tengen tells her that themselves, the Star Plasma Vessel and the Six Eyes are all connected by faith. Yuji asks why Yuta is doing all of this where he reveals that it is because Yuji is important to people who Yuta considers important. With no other options, Mahito resorts to begging Kenjaku to save him. When a parent comes to asks if their son is safe, Yuji decides to rescue the guy. Toji Fushiguro is an assassin specializing in killing sorcerers , and in the Gojo's Past Arc,he nearly comes up with the perfect plan to deal with Gojo Satoru's Six Eyes and Limitless combo. Higuruma gets out of his seat and says goodbye as Yuji asks what he's going to do now and asks if Higuruma will help them. Later Yuji attends a meeting with the other students and faculty, where they all agree to continue the event.
