Snake Discovery does many reptile programs, teaching kids about reptiles. It is owned by Ed and Emily Roberts [1] , who are married. Emily was born on May 9, in Woodbury, MN. Ed was born on May 21, Emily's first job was at an ice cream store called Maggie Moo's. When she was 16, she started working at Cookies by Design. When she was 17, she left Maggie Moo's and started working at PetSmart. She graduated high school in and continued to work at PetSmart; while working, she met her first boyfriend Ed, who was shopping there. He referred to her as "The Bird Nerd" and they clicked from there. She did half of college at a local community college, and finished at The University of Minnesota, where she got her Bachelors degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. She got a new job with the Minnesota DNR as an "Interpretive Naturalist", which was a summer job where she had to make programs to teach people about wildlife. That's how she started loving to do programs.
Emily's Macaw, Cheyenne, was with her before she ever met Ed, and served as the ring bearer for the couple's wedding. Snake Discovery does many reptile programs, teaching kids about reptiles.
Our educational zoo features over 75 exhibits of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates for you to learn about and see up close! Crawl through the alligator tunnel, touch a snake, use flashlights to find critters in our Invert Cave, and more! Our hands-on environment is welcome to all ages. No appointment is necessary; just come on over and explore! Guided tours are available at no additional cost on Sundays-Fridays at 12pm, 2pm, and 5pm and Saturday at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. Join a tour given by a zookeeper to learn about reptiles, touch several species, and maybe even get your hand licked by a tegu!
