Willas Tyrell is a character cut from Game of Thrones.

During a tourney Willas was struck down and fell off his horse which caused his foot to get stuck and his horse fell on top of him. It crippled him. Willas is a kind man, and well educated. He is known for being able to breed the best hawks, hounds and horses of the Seven Kingdoms. At Willas his first tourney, he rode against Oberyn Martell, who managed to knock Willas out of his saddle during the game.

In his youth Willas was groomed for knighthood. Riding in his first tourney as only a child, he found himself being knocked off his horse by the steady lance of Oberyn Martell, an unfortunate incident that would leave him crippled for life and revive the ancient and long lived animosity between House Tyrell and House Martell. Following this incident, Willas tended towards scholarly studies and became a renowned for breeding the finest falcons, horses, and hounds. Known for his patience and ingenuity and intelligence, Willas was often tasked with running Highgarden while his father worked in King's Landing , and this was the case once more during The War of the Five Kings. Willas would eventually have to coordinate the defense of the Reach during the Ironborn's Invasion of the Reach, facing off against Euron Greyjoy. Writing to Leyton Hightower following the loss of the Shield Islands, he had Oldtown and the Arbor prepare for the worst. He then rallied fresh bannermen at Highgarden, prepared to strike back. Following the war, Willas was wed to Desmera Redwyne. They would have four children. During the War of the Waters , Willas's father-in-law Paxter played an important role. Willas was quick to lend his own aid to the war. Willas became a famous ruler after revamping the economic policies of the Reach. He also formed a council of his own, the Council of the Rose, drawing in many major lords to address their problems and speak their thoughts and concerns. While the floor had always been open, Willas found it easier to speak his subjects in a gathered room, as his leg had left him somewhat trapped in Highgarden.

Willas Tyrell is the son of Mace Tyrell, and Alleria Tyrell making him a member both the heir and a powerful member of House Tyrell through his father, and a member of House Hightower through his mother. Willas has three siblings in the form of Garlan, Margaery, and Loras Tyrell of which his brother Loras is celebrated throughout the Kingdom for both his tournament skill and the fact he is in a relationship with Kristen Trachtenburg of House Lovie, while his brother Garlan is a senior member of the House Tyrell military forces and is perhaps more skilled in fighting then Loras but wants less fame, while his sister Margeary is involved in an affair with Nathan Scott of the ruling house and she has come to be defined by this relationship. Though crippled with a bad leg, he is often noted as a studious, educated, and kind, and is renowned for breeding the finest hawks, hounds, and horses in the Valley of Lucerne. During his first tourney, he was competing against Prince Oberyn Martell of House Martell , who knocked Willas from his horse. Unfortunately, his foot caught in his stirrup as he fell, and he pulled his horse on top of him, crushing his leg and leaving him a cripple. Though the incident fanned the flames of the considerable enmity between Houses Tyrell and Martell, Willas bore Oberyn no personal ill will and the two long remained in correspondence, sharing a passion for horseflesh. When it came to dividing up the responsibilities of the attack on the lands of the Malfoy's it was House Scott that was obviously a part of the planning of the Invasion of Westbridge as they were a Lord House and Lucas Scott was very popular with the young King of Lucerne in William, despite the fact the two were estranged due to an argument between them when Lucas finally learned of Brooke Scott, and the King.

Willas Tyrell is a character cut from Game of Thrones. He has two younger brothers, Garlan and Loras ; and one sister, Margaery. He suffered a crippling injury to his leg in his adolescent years from a tournament accident, while he was facing Oberyn Martell in a joust; according to Oberyn, as Willas fell from the saddle, his foot got caught in his stirrup, dragging his horse down on top of him. Though this has increased the animosity between the Tyrells and the Martells who had been bitter enemies for many generations prior to the incident , Willas himself is relatively calm about the injury and does not blame Oberyn, acknowledging that it was an accident and not his fault, and even befriending Oberyn to an extent. At their first meeting, when Tyrion mentions the incident to Oberyn, hoping to intimidate him, Oberyn laughs it off and mentions a friendly letter he received from Willas regarding their shared interest in breeding horses. Oberyn also believes the one at fault for the accident was Willas's father, claiming that Mace pressured his sons into competing in tournaments before they were ready for such events.
