The 15th annual White Rock Home Tour will feature a combination of mid-century modern homes and new modern homes that will delight and inspire you. In , on a hillside facing White Rock Lake, architect Donald Speck created an iconic and enduring residence for the Topper family. Framed by broad single-story ranch-style homes, Speck inventively carved away the hillside and continued the upper band of windows down the exterior wall to provide a hidden, daylight filled lower level for the bedrooms for the large family. This mid-century modern home was designed and built by its original owners, an engineer and his wife who graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School and was in her Neurology Fellowship at Baylor Medical Center.
