Restoration and preservation of habitat connectivity in the Atlantic Forest is a key priority for local and international conservation organizations in Paraguay, but design of connected landscapes is severely limited by lack of knowledge about wildlife movements and by lack of understanding of how to engage local landowners in maintaining or restoring landscape connections. Claudio's research integrates social and ecological dimensions in wildlife research as a basis for biodiversity conservation.
