Geran and Pope decided to open the restaurant in downtown Hickory shortly after moving from San Francisco. In August , the pair moved the establishment to its current location in Suite at 1st Ave. The duo started by selling smoothies but expanded the menu to offer food when the kitchen opened in December, Pope said. Geran said he has been cooking since he was a child and always enjoyed watching cooking shows. He makes all the vegan meat replacements in house, except for the Beyond Burgers. Pope said Geran loves cooking vegan food for non-vegans to give people new experiences. The menu features tacos, protein bowls and burritos made with the plant-based proteins. Pope said her favorite item, and a popular request from customers, is the olmec bowl.
