UB40, an iconic English band, emerged onto the music scene in December , originating from Birmingham, England. Recognized for their fusion of reggae and pop, the band swiftly rose to prominence with an impressive array of achievements. Their global impact is reflected in the sale of more than 70 million records worldwide, coupled with four Grammy Award nominations for Best Reggae Album. Despite a stable lineup for almost three decades, the band encountered a significant transition in when frontman Ali Campbell departed, subsequently followed by keyboardist Mickey Virtue. The departure of Astro in saw the emergence of a new iteration of UB40 alongside Campbell and Virtue. More recently, the band welcomed Matt Doyle as their new vocalist in , succeeding Duncan Campbell, who retired due to health reasons.

The band's line-up was stable for nearly 29 years, from March until January , when frontman Ali Campbell left the band, followed shortly thereafter by keyboardist Mickey Virtue. Another member, Astro, remained with the band until November , when he departed the original band to team up with Campbell and Virtue in a new version of UB In , legal advice was sought by the original band now consisting of remaining co-founding members drummer Jimmy Brown, guitarist Robin Campbell, bassist Earl Falconer, percussionist Norman Hassan, and saxophonist Brian Travers, along with new vocalist Duncan Campbell who took action against the group containing Campbell, Virtue, and Astro over usage of the band name, due to it being used by both parties.
