After the match, Thatcher and Ciampa showed respect to one another and Ciampa asked Thatcher to be his partner for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic which Thatcher accepted, turning face in the process. On the August 24, episode of NXT , Thatcher faced Ridge Holland in a losing effort and after the match would be brutally attacked by Holland, writing him off television.
