The enormous disco ball glinting over the bubbling steaming roman baths has your eyes popping out of your head when you walk into the Rabbit Hotel's outdoor spa area. Two years ago it was a car park but now it's a funky paradise for grown-ups and forms part of the Galgorm's collection of hotels. These days laughter from ladies drinking prosecco out of white plastic wine glasses fills the air while others lounge around in bathrobes in the outdoor beach area of the spa overlooking the lake or sit up at the outdoor beach bar, this is not your normal relaxation area. Today's top videos Upstairs there are four poster hot water beds where you are served prosecco sorbets after spa treatments slightly close to each other but nonetheless cute. I am in Templepatrick about 20 minutes from Belfast but bar the cold weather it could very well be the Love Island villa. Shrieks of laughter from every corner fill the place as guests nibble on buckets of bones or plates of nachos it is not your typical spa restaurant menu. And this is not your typical spa - this place has fun written into its DNA.

When the opportunity came to review The Rabbit Hotel and retreat, I literally hopped at the chance. Not only did this retreat have multiple hot tubs in the open-air spa but we had our own private outdoor bathtub which came with its own special bunny bath! The Rabbit hotel and retreat is a luxury 4-star boutique hotel burrowed away in the heart of Templepatrick, Northern Ireland. Upon arrival at the gorgeous Hotel and retreat we were greeted by Hannah and their adorable resident dog, Flo; being a dog lover, this was an amazing way to start our trip and by the end of our stay, I and Flo became very fond of each other. Moments like this gave our stay a real family feel, which is something I really loved about staying at The Rabbit; they wanted this retreat to feel like a home away from home and they definitely succeeded. The outdoor open-air spa instantly transports you into holiday mode, soon after we dropped our bags off, we were straight in that hot tub with a Pineapple and Coconut Spritz cocktail in hand.
Whether you are here for work, rest, local or just passing-through, The Rabbit Hotel and Retreat will look after you, with style in abundance and a homely feel. The laid-back little sister to Galgorm, our AA Four Star hotel will give you all the creature comforts you love housed in beautifully designed spaces with a few quirks along the way. Experience a blissful night's sleep in our comfy guestrooms, kick back in the spa with your favourite drink and soak up all the Balearic vibes with a chilled party playlist to match. At a time when we all need a bit of luxury in our lives, the announcement of a brand new boutique hotel in Northern Ireland has lifted our spirits. Today's top videos The bedroom boutique hotel has undergone a stylish transformation since its purchase in , and it now includes a luxury outdoor spa and lakeside walk, an onsite bar and restaurant, and an exclusive-use events space for weddings and conferences. This definitely feels like the luxury escape we all need, with a walk along the brand-new heated beach with a lakeside view being one of the only in Ireland, and it looks as good as it sounds. As you chill out at the heated beach, you can enjoy a cocktail from the Lake Bar, moving to the sunken lounge and plush cabanas, showing us we don't need to jet off to an exotic location to have a luxury experience. What we love about the restaurant is the large outdoor terrace allowing for al fresco dining, perfect for the warm summer days, which will go delightfully with a bottle of wine from the extensive wine cellar located in the restaurant. For those looking for an impressive wedding venue, then The Loft, located within the resort could be the perfect match, allowing for the most magical setting for your special day. We think we could definitely enjoy a few night's away here, as we probably won't be travelling abroad this year! Luxury boutique hotel The Rabbit to open in Northern Ireland. Claire Concannon.

Great location overall for sightseeing, recreation, dining and getting around. Nothing Beautiful rooms, great service and lovely food Stayed in November Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Accompanying the outdoor bathtub was a gorgeous terrace for two, an attractive fireplace and a stunning view over-looking the idyllic lake. Outside in the back courtyard, there is a bride emerging from her car to walk into the newly built Boathouse where wedding ceremonies are performed with views over the lake. Public transport 53 mins.
