Thank you!

If you've known me for 10 years or 10 minutes you will know that I have a big and eccentric personality. When it comes to fashion, if I love it and I feel good in it, I wear it! If you are even a little like me, you love fun clothing that not everyone has because you believe in being your true authentic self! This is probably why growing up I played every sport there was and eventually landed a division 1 scholarship playing volleyball in Colorado. After moving back to Canada, I still shopped these fun and unique boutiques, but from the comforts of my home. I then quickly found out about the unexpected duties and taxes that would accompany the exciting parcels. This is where the idea of The Pink Porcupine was born. Now as a mom of three young boys and an owner of a boutique, I know how busy life can get! I know that spending hours putting together outfits is not something that we have time for.

The pink porcupine

Porcupines are large rodents with coats of sharp spines, or quills, that protect them against predation. The term covers two families of animals: the Old World porcupines of the family Hystricidae , and the New World porcupines of the family Erethizontidae. Despite this, the two groups are distinct from one another and are not closely related to each other within the Hystricognathi. The largest species of porcupine is the third-largest living rodent in the world, after the capybara and beaver. They are large, terrestrial, and strictly nocturnal. They live in wooded areas and can climb trees, where some species spend their entire lives. They are less strictly nocturnal than their Old World counterparts and generally smaller. Most porcupines are about 60—90 cm 25—36 in long, with a 20—25 cm 8—10 in long tail. Weighing 5—16 kg 12—35 lb , they are rounded, large, and slow, and use an aposematic strategy of defence.
