Loft is a slightly asymmetric shawl that is knitted from the narrowest point, the knitting loft, getting wider as you go. Inspired by a weekend away with lots of friends at Edinburgh Yarn Festival, the stripes represent the knitting loft many flights of stairs to our city centre accommodation - The Loft. The pattern structure is simple but effective with easy to memorise increases, decreases and colour changes.

The Knitting Loft is yarn heaven for the dreamers, creators, and of course, the knitting enthusiasts. We love visiting the Knitting Loft for many reasons, but at the forefront of it being a family run business, by mother daughter duo Bruna and Maria. This beautiful shop located in the North end of Toronto is just off the , making it highly accessible to many in and around Toronto. The shop has two floors full of beautiful yarn sourced globally, and is in the process of expanding with construction underway. Along with beautiful yarn, the shop hosts many interesting classes. I work with a local printer and they help me to source recycled paper for my patterns. What was the most crucial part of the design process for you? It's become a focal point of the shop, and reminds us every day that this shop exists because of my mom's courage to follow her dream and passion.
