The Hobbit 50th Anniversary Edition, by J. Published in by Houghton Mifflin to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the original publication of The Hobbit in This copy is still sealed in the original shrinkwrap, with no scuffs or markings noted. Gold leatherette with red and green foil stamping in matching slipcase with green, black and gold label, illustrated with full color plates, and monochrome line drawings, maps, top edge stained red-orange, complete with all plates and unabridged. The photo's of the opened book are taken from a similar copy as this one is still sealed. It is possible that this is a Book Club Edition as there are no markings to indicate either way to the sealed exterior.

I try and update this site when I get the time which is rarely these days! I hope other Tolkien Fans might find it interesting. The 50th anniversary hardback edition of the Hobbit Bit of a shame the dustjacket spine faded so easily on this one. The font I've used for all the headings on this site is called Tolkienesque New and is inspired by the calligraphy of J. Tolkien himself. It has an extended character set and looks lovely even at very small sizes.
