The island is getting ready for Sodor Day. Thomas and James are having a race to the wharf, to decide who will be given the important job assigned by Mr. Thomas comes into the wharf first, and is sent to collect lumber with Duncan, much to his dismay. Soon Thomas teases Duncan, but Duncan gets revenge, by sending Thomas to a line which hasn't been used in many years, which he says will get Thomas back to the wharf quicker. After avoiding, and almost falling off of a crumbling bridge, Thomas takes another line, and the overgrown junction next to the bridge.
