It was thought that the ship's advanced scanning suite, superior to any ship that had previously made a search effort, would have better luck in finding the crew, or finally confirm whatever fate had befallen them. During a gravity slingshot maneuver around Planet B , the Quarantine Enforcement Platform struck the Aurora with an energy pulse on the starboard right side, resulting in catastrophic hull failure and leading to it crash landing on the surface of the planet. All the starboard Lifepods were damaged, if not outright destroyed by the energy pulse; most of the port side lifepods that did launch pods 1 to 25 , after landing, were either compromised or otherwise perished to the hostile ecosystem. The Captain's Quarters is a bit frustrating for anyone looking to speed through the escapes since, like the Kitchen , it forces you to find a series of clues in order to obtain a code without giving you the opportunity to simply enter the code if you know it already from a previous playthrough. Luckily, this clue chain is not nearly as long as the one from the Kitchen, and the story sequences scattered throughout are notably more interesting. Like the Chart Room , the Captain's Quarters also consists of two connected rooms, which we'll call the Bedroom and the Telegraph Room. The Bedroom is where you start, and contains a bed, a desk covered in monitors, a video camera and the exit. The Telegraph Room contains, as you might expect, a telegraph, as well as other bits of electronic equipment. Examine the bedside table on the very first screen to find a music box you can add to your inventory. Take a closer look at the monitors on the desk in the back of the Bedroom. Examining the keyboard in front of them will cause the screens to display the word "ZERO". This may seem inconsequential, but you cannot enter the Telegraph Room without performing this step. Once you do, head through the door to the right of the desk.
