Let it set for a while and cool down, then restarts fine but will only run for another 20 to 30 minutes. Had taken to dealer for repair, and their diagnosis was carbon build up in the muffler which they cleaned along with carb. Picked it up to use yesterday and the same problem is occurring. This trimmer has less than 1 hour on it. Just recently it's gotten a little tougher to start and does not run smoothly. It sounds as if it's breaking up, or is miss-firing. It just doesn't have that clean crisp sound. I've gone through the basics and made up a new batch of fuel with premium gas and Stihl mix. I just got a new spark plug but have not yet tried. Can anyone think of anything else specific to this trimmer?

We use it a lot to trim around posts and on blackberries and the string is forever jaming, not feeding etc. On the other hand we also have the el-cheapo electric trimmers from the big box store and although they don't last too long maybe years at least they work the way they are supposed to.
