So we decided to put together the definitive list of Stihl Chainsaws years made from to the present day. Here are the series, model, and production years of all the Stihl gas chainsaws from to today. The first Stihl chainsaw was patented by Andreas Stihl in — it was also the first electric chainsaw. The second Stihl chainsaw was one of the first gas chainsaws. This was the Stihl Type A which was produced from — Stihl saws were originally made in Germany, but Stihl chainsaws are now produced around the world. There are also rumors of a chainsaw — it may or may not exist. And, in , the Stihl MS was released not sure which series this falls under yet. This includes the early corded electric and more modern battery chainsaws Stihl electric chainsaw reviews.

I spoke briefly with owner Wesley Green, who has used the saw for a couple of years and took the images throughout this post.
