Aside from changing planets for colonization desires, this command can also be used creatively. For instance, you could change a planet to a Hive World, Gaia World or Machine World for roleplaying or narrative reasons. This can range from habitable planet types like continental, oceanic, or arctic, to uninhabitable types like gas giants or asteroids. In Stellaris, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.
