Tired of dining in and desperately needing to get outta the house, I braved the indoor restaurant scene with a dinner at Southern Pearl Oyster House. Part of the Half Shell Oyster House restaurant family based in Mississippi, the Baton Rouge iteration on Perkins Road has maintained popularity since opening in September , in spite of the pandemic. Inside the restaurant, Cajun, zydeco and blues music drifted from the speakers and put us in a festive mood. Our server congratulated us on such smart choices that allowed us to get a wide flavor swath of the full menu. For the Oyster Sampler, 12 oysters were presented in trios of charbroiled, Bienville, Rockefeller and a new one to us: Orleans. This last one had abundant garlic and parsley with plenty of Parmesan and a cayenne kick.

I went in solo and sat at the bar. It was such a great experience from beginning to end. I told the host T I would sit at the bar since I was by myself and she took me over to show me the seat The bartender Tejay was went beyond in providing great service and suggestions for drinks and food. I got to chat with others sitting at the bar and it had the feel of a neighborhood hang out with an elevated atmosphere. The drinks were amazing, I had a King Cake Martini special of the month and a blueberry lemon drop. For my meal I had the Royal Redfish with a side salad.

My family and I went for dinner on a Saturday night, and everything was perfect. We were immediately greeted upon arrival and quickly seated within 5 minutes. A little pricey, a beautiful atmosphere, but the food was amazing and worth every penny. I highly recommended Anthony, thank you for taking the time to leave us a thorough review!
