Sophies universe part 7

Well I have finally got round to taking some pictures of the small single colour Sophie I made recently. This is intended for a baby due this month and I hope will be used as a pram blanket, sophies universe part 7. I am really pleased with how it turned out. In one colour the texture of Sophie really speaks for itself.

I had to have a go myself as soon as I saw it. You can read about my Sophie here. I never did do that follow up post! So when I heard that Dedri was turning the pattern into a book, I had to have a look so I arranged for one to come here to me and boy is it good! The first thing I noticed was the weight of it!

I got through round 12 today. It is bigger than I expected it to be at this point. I have just finished round 37 which is popcorn separated by chain 2 spaces. The Mandala is complete. It measures about 10cm 4 in bigger than it should at this point -- I really crochet loosely. If I want to give her the blanket in person for her birthday in early December, I really need to finish her blanket by mid-November. I am almost done with the baby blanket size square blanket, I am on round 59 of 61 and I will add a picture tomorrow when I am done with that. Michele E. I really like how she put the sc row of contrasting color on either side. I ordered some more of the purples just to be sure I have enough. On the original pattern, Dedri has stitches before starting the butterflies, compared to my

Explaining 2 different kinds of sides for each round takes a lot of photos and words, but the rounds are fairly straightforward and should go quickly. I keep being amazed at all the stunning colour combinations you guys are coming up with, and I have a little favour to ask. Before you get to the end of Part 6, could you take your Sophie on a little photo shoot outing? I love seeing pictures of Sophie draped over landmarks or in pretty landscapes. I know I loved seeing Sophie in different South-African settings: draped over a stack of tyres, with Table Mountain in the background; being held by 2 boys at a Sports day; in front of the Union Building in Pretoria. I got to thinking. Share your Scenic Sophies using scenicsophie. See the Information Post. In some of the photos, I have used a different colour than the specified colour to make it easier for you to see where the stitches go. When counting the stitches for each side, you will be counting from ch-1 corner space to ch-1 corner space.

This week we will be making the short sides a bit more interesting by introducing a large central flower and some zigzags. I would like to say thank you to everyone who posted photos of their flower-giving last week. This week I would like you to share some photos of the men in your lives this can be any man in your life, not just family posing with Sophie. Dare them, bribe them, beg them…whatever it takes! From what I can tell most of your men-folk are good sports, so this should be fun :. See the Information Post. When deciding your colours for this part, you will need to consider the central flower on the short side. Rounds 62 — 64 will form the body of the flower. Rounds 65 and 66 will form the decorative detail around the bottom round of Puff Stitches.

The CAL started on the 18th of January and ran for 20 weeks, with parts being released weekly on a Sunday. Even though the CAL has now finished, the online community around it is still thriving and it is not hard to find a group where someone is making Sophie, either individually or as a group. Although the pattern is advanced, it has been written specifically for adventurous beginners.

A couple of tips from me though. Highly recommend reading this first as opposed to what I did!!! All fixed. Going into round 99, Dedri has stitches and I have Dc in the next 14 stitches.
