Interestingly, it also boasts a couple of movie features its higher-end sibling lacks!

This fake shutter sound is probably present in order to indicate to the camera user that the exposure has started, most likely to mimic a mechanical front curtain, as most Sony camera now have electronic front curtains. Also the programmable function menu that can be assigned to one of the programmable buttons, similar to older Sony NEX camera models, is not available. This camera-related article is a stub. Announced in August , it comes just eight months after its predecessor, the A, but unlike many swift camera updates, the A sports a number of important and very worthwhile improvements. Like its predecessor, composition on the A is with its screen only, which as before can flip back by degrees to face the subject for easy self-portraits or filming pieces to camera. New to the A though is a higher resolution screen, k dots vs k, and hallelujah, touch-sensitive capabilities. Yes, for the first time in ages for a Sony camera, you can tap to reposition the AF area. As before the body is tiny, about as small as Sony can make an interchangeable lens camera with an APS-C sensor and tilting screen. Measuring x63x Measuring x58x41mm and weighing g with battery, the RX III is smaller and more pocketable than the A when the Alpha is fitted with its kit zoom, and also features a built-in viewfinder.
