After using this lens for several weeks with the Sony a, I have concluded that it is the best lightweight travel combination on the market. The quality, versatility, and performance is amazing for such a compact combo. The build feels very solid and firm , especially the zoom and focus rings. This is neither of those things! These features are becoming standard on Sony lens designs and rightfully so. In terms of focusing, this lens performed quite well. It was very quick to grab focus , even when pointed directly toward the setting sun. I loved how it worked silently to lock on to the subject even during quick movements.
