SSU currently has 19 active chapters. The most important part about Greek life is philanthropy, sonoma state university sororities, each chapter organizes fundraisers in order to help a nonprofit. Throughout the year they raise money for them by helping coach running teams and volunteer at the GOTR 5k each semester.

These chapters collaborate with local organizations that provide support for children and teens experiencing homelessness. Jump to content. The beginning of each semester is a time for you to learn about the different fraternities and sororities at Sonoma State University! There will be many events to learn about the overall community, but the actual is different for each council. Please visit the links in this section for detailed information concerning each council's growth process. This is an opportunity for potential new members to visit each of our 6 affiliated fraternities and 1 local affiliated fraternity, as well as our 6 affiliated sororities and their members, meet hundreds of peers, and get acquainted with our campus. Our 2 local affiliated sororities do participate in recruitment but do not participate in the formal primary Panhellenic recruitment weekend. By participating in recruitment, you are taking the first step toward an active and enriching experience as a fraternity or sorority member.

Jump to content. Interested in joining a fraternity or sorority? We encourage everyone to visit our council and chapter social media pages for events, updates and announcements! Leading up to recruitment, all IFC chapters will be tabling in the plaza and promoting events around campus. The first day of recruitment will be an information night where everyone is invited to learn about our IFC chapters and encouraged to visit them all throughout the week. From there, students can choose the events they would like to attend. Recruitment concludes with Bid Day where invitations or bids are distributed from each chapter. Not all MSFC chapters take in new members at the same time and each chapter has a unique process tailored to their individual organizations, however, each chapter is highlighted at the beginning of the school year. The Panhellenic Council hosts a formal recruitment process during the third week of the fall semester. Formal Recruitment is a three-day process in which students explore all chapters, with the exception of our associate chapters, Kappa Delta Zeta and Lambda Kappa Pi.
