FallrimTools is a free utility tool designed to help players modify modded savegame files. FallrimTools enables players to load, view, and edit the information stored in savegame files. The file changes will take effect after the game has been reloaded. This mod combines two open-source software tools : ReSaver and Script Scalpel. These specialized gaming tools allow users to clean savegame files and fix issues that may have arisen due to corrupted files. It is not uncommon for players to try several mods with their games.

Asked by RagnarTolletson , March 13, I am new to the forum and relatively new to Mod Organizer about 2 months and to Skyrim itself about 4 months. I appreciate any help with what I am sure is a simple question -- but I haven't been able to find the answer after some hours of searching. I would like to clean up my save games to improve performance -- I suspect I have a number of orphaned scripts, etc. After reading the reviews, I have downloaded and installed Save Game Script Cleaner, and have watched the tutorials. Looks like a good, simple solution. I see the save games over in the right pane, and can load and play those -- but how do I copy them to: a make backups, or b clean the save? I think a more pertinent question might be: what have you been doing that makes you think your saves are in need of 'cleaning'? After so little time with the game I'm assuming you haven't been outrageous with your mod choices. Or have you? Well, I do have multiple profiles, and have about plugins installed now. I've done some uninstalls, and deactivated some mods after experimenting with them. Not outrageous choices of mods -- almost all quite popular and well-reviewed -- but a fair lot of them, and I don't always do it right -- learning curve. My laptop was really good three years ago -- so now middling at best. My load time had become quite slow, and while I haven't been been crashing much recently used to have more problems with CTD before I figured some things out , I was and am still looking for ways to optimize my game.

It has been an odyssey. My most recent Skyrim save is three years old. I cannot in good conscience pretend to recall what my motivations were the last time I played it - what quests I cared about, what guild or weapon or house I was pursuing. But, for reasons that are part bloody-mindedness and part wincing at the prospect of having to redo so much armour crafting from the start, I have been absolutely determined to get my old saves and characters working in last week's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition [ official site ]. However, if you ran Skyrim with mods, there is a very strong likelihood that the saves will not work.
