I gave my self at the start of the game around DragonBone Arrows, as I have the ACE mod installed and wanted to test out the range without having to use the little iron arrows I did have.

This page lists all the ammunition arrows for bows and bolts for crossbows available in Skyrim. Arrows are the required ammunition for bows. Arrows cannot be enchanted or tempered. Unless the Dawnguard add-on has been installed, arrows cannot be created at forges.

When I use the console command "showinventory", I see that they randomly? I have tried to put arrows and a bow inside the inventory, which can only be opened when the option "quick backpack access" is enabled, but the follower still only equips the bow without arrows and just stands there without shooting. I have experimented with this quite a bit, since reading about it, and have found that I can have them doing a lot of damage, if I keep them using iron arrows and an Elven bow, rather than having them default to a plain old hunting bow, because I tried to give them Elven arrows. Change language. I don't know if this has an effect on my problem, but I also use the mod Requiem. IIRC, if the combo of base damage of their bow and arrow is less than 15 or greater than 22, they will revert to their default bow. Last edited by Ragnar the Red ; 11 Jan, am.
