Dwarven Ruins seem to be everywhere in Skyrim dwemer ruins. It shows the importance of the Dwemer, their structures and designs, and how mighty they were before their mysterious disappearance. The fact that Skyrim is filled with Dwarven Ruins shows just how common the Dwemer were, and how scattered their civilization was throughout Tamriel.

Once I got into the Blackreach I really wished I had done things less chaotically. They built huge underground cities, created advanced constructs, and left all other races looking primitive in comparison. Then, one day, they disappeared. Left behind are their homes, empty but for their steam-powered contraptions, their creeping Falmer servants, and lots of expensive goods. The profitable and exciting activity of ruin-diving is open to all in Skyrim , but judging by the number of bodies you find, the success rate isn't extremely high. Not far from Winterhold, it's possible to see a lone dwarven tower and a collapsing camp. These are the ruins of Alftand, though the real show is below, through a gap in the glacier. Scattered throughout the ruins, you can find the remains of the expedition that built the camp. Most are dead, and the few that aren't are really not in the mood for talking. Encountering one of the last members, Umana, will get you attacked. Afterwards, it will get you the unique shield Targe Of The Blooded, which inflict bleed damage on a bash.
An array of bandits, Flamer, and Dwarven Automatons can be found within Mzinchaleft. Once I got into the Blackreach I really wished I had done things less chaotically.

The first room inside the ruins contains a flame trap blocking the way forward, with a charred skeever impaled by a pole that is set up so the flames will cook it. Damage can be minimized using Whirlwind Sprint or Become Ethereal to go through it without getting burned, or it is possible to go around the back right side of the post that is shooting fire. Straight ahead is an expert-locked gate with Alain Dufont and two other bandits behind it. With high enough Sneak and Lockpicking skills, the gate lock can be picked and Alain killed without too much trouble.

While this mod might seem rather insignificant compared to others, it does serve a purpose, especially when combined with other Dwemer ruins overhaul mods.
