Overall, I found it both exciting and very melancholic; from when you realise the Sicario was groomed into his position it becomes a story of a victim rather than of a killer. This is a truly chilling account with some aspect of redemption of the lunacy south of the border. The protagonist remains one-dimensional throughout the book but there probably wasn't much else that could be done with an anonymous killer.
