NPCs talk about Odfel's wrecked house and the need to build a new one, but the wreckage doesn't exist. Grelka has some scenes with the other NPCs that can never play because she never comes to the town, and may well have originally been planned for there. Plus the place always seemed a bit empty, in need of somewhere for the folks to gather at night other than just the fireplace in front of Sylgja's house.

Shor's Stone , named after the Nordic god Shor , is a small ebony mining village in the pass between the Rift and Eastmarch , north-northwest of Riften. Shor's Stone has a watchtower that overlooks the village, aptly named Shor's Watchtower. Shor's Stone Mine, sometimes called Redbelly Mine due to the red mist that fills it, provides ebony, Quicksilver , and iron and serves as the foundation of the local economy. The Fallowstone Vaults served as a museum and mortuary for the Companions as well as the resting place of Wuuthrad , and shrines to the original Five Hundred Companions surrounded the hall. They took control of the mine and Fallowstone Hall in order to steal Wuuthrad and resurrect the giant Sinmur. With the aid of the surviving Companions, the Ebonheart Pact liberated the settlement, but not before Wuuthrad was lost.

After doing a miscellaneous quest to kill the spiders, the mine is opened again. Sylgja asks the Dragonborn to deliver her satchel to her father in Darkwater Crossing. After completing the quest, the Dragonborn will be able to marry her. Hafjorg asks the Dragonborn to deliver Filnjar's ore sample back to her. Shors stone

The town is situated at the northern end of The Rift. The main resource of Shor's Stone is Ebony. The entire Rift is surrounded by mountains. One of the only ways to go down the mountain is by going through Shor's Stone. The ebony mining settlement is located on a slope that descends to Eastmarch. Redbelly Mine , which is the mine owned by the town, is located on the eastern side at the base of the mountain. The settlement of Shor's Stone was under Ebonheart Pact control.
