Population studies within the framework of history has become one of the important disciplines that attract the attention of world academia. This study aims to sketch out the demographic structure of Salonica, one of the most distinguished provinces of the time in the Ottoman Empire, in the first half of nineteenth the century and analyse it in a historical demographic context.
