I use thread tape but the pitch of the tread seams to be deeper thus stripping the tape back as I tighten. I was just wondering what others would recommend to lock the threads. I filled the system to try it n has minor leaks at six threads out of 20 with no options to tighten. Advice would be appreciated… obliged macplum.

Log in or Sign up. Screwfix Community Forum. Euro lock cylinder too long? Our static has euro cylinder locks in it. I'm changing the locks so we know who has access. The existing lock looks way too long for the door and would be easy for a would-be crook to snap it off. Is there any reason they'd put in an oversize one or should I go for a shorter one? If so what length?

Went to open my old neighbours back door for her this morning as it was stuck closed and the key cut part the bit that undoes the lock to her mortice lock has snapped off in the lock leaving her with just the shank.
